A few more projects happening around the property. We grabbed a scrap metal dumpster for the odds and ends of stuff that has piled up. We hired a company to come in and grind the stumps around the property. Over 100 were ground up and once they are cleaned up and seeded this will make a big improvement in the aesthetic look of the course. On some holes it will also improve the playability since a few of these stumps were in play. We also filled a few potholes on the road to the cottage.

I was out on the course this week and saw these cart tracks going through a bunker and just had to stop and take a picture. Over 30 years of working full time on a golf course and I still cannot fathom this behavior. Is it simply laziness? Sheer stupidity? I do know it a clear disregard for the condition of the golf course. This must be the same jackass taking divots out of the greens. The pictures below show where the cart signs are that direct you to the path (line in pic). We place them there so if there is a wear spot leading to the path it is well away from the green. Last year we tried hard to repair this area right next to the bunker (circled in pic) but cart riders kept driving on it so it still isn't great. We put a rope up to keep carts from taking this short cut. We have to fix it daily because people simply run it over. I get that people hit their ball just short of the green. I also get that people cannot walk as well as they used to so they want to play polo and hit their ball right from the cart wherever it may be. But if you do happen to drive past the directional signs to play your ball why can't you drive backwards to follow the signs? Why is that so hard to figure out? The person in the picture below was obviously so confused where they were supposed to go they thought driving through the bunker made the most sense!? Am I supposed to be happy they didn't just drive across the green? We will never get ahead of the cart damage on the course if people do not help us. The signs and ropes are there for a reason. We are trying to give YOU the best conditions we can. Help us out.
